I Needed a Team

This race has allowed me to see that I have an incredible group of people in my life. Even more importantly, I learned that I couldn’t have done this without them around me. Their support was so great it overwhelmed me to tears for days after Grandma’s Marathon. They are amazing so this post is dedicated to them.

This is Becca. Becca was the first person to accompany me on a long run. She biked with me in the rain for 13 miles.

This is Bree. Bree is amazing. She not only ran 15 miles with me a week after running Boston Marathon, but she also ran my 18 miler with me!

This is Leah. She graciously sacrificed a Sunday afternoon and biked 16 miles with me while I ran. It was a hot day but I was grateful for her company!

This is Hannah. Hannah woke up at 6 am on a Saturday to bike along side me while I ran 20 miles.

These are my dear friends who cared for me before, during and after the race. They drove and biked all around northern Minnesota in order to see me at 4 different locations. This was on top of the 2-4 hours they drove just to see me. These are the people who prayed for me before my race and held me while I cried after the race. They literally carried all of the things I wanted during and immediately after the race on their backs

This cutie and her parents rocked their shirts in the cities while I ran in Duluth

This family made it a family affair when it came to cheering for me. These kids learned from their great parents what it means to fully support a person in something they are doing

And these are only some of the people who supported me. I received more texts, phone calls, emails, and messages encouraging me than I can count. Thank you to everyone who supported me! I couldn’t have done this without you.
